All the fuss the last couple of days has been surrounding College Football Conference Championship, and rightfully so. Itâs now came and gone, but weâll get you all champions below!
Big 12 Championship: Arizona State 45-Iowa State 19. The Sun Devils pull off the worst-to-first dream season! ASU was picked to finish LAST in the conference this year once again, but the boys from Tempe did not care for the hate. Led by Sam Leavitt and Cam Skattebo, ASU punched their ticket into the CFP. The Sun Devils woke up this morning as champions.
MAC Championship:Â Ohio 38-Miami (OH) 3. Thereâs nothing like the MAC. It was an underdogâs dream come true for Ohio, as 4-year starting QB Parker Navarro led the Bobcats to a 10-3 record and a 2024 MAC Championship. Miami scored first and took a 3-0 lead, but it was all Ohio from there. The Ohio Bobcats woke up this morning as champions.
SEC Championship: Georgia 22-Texas 19. Nothing to talk about here. Not at all. Other than the fact that the backup QB came in at halftime, rallied the Georgia Bulldogs, and led them to victory. Gunnar Stockton is never going to have to purchase a beverage in the great state of Georgia again. I have a feeling this is not the last time weâll see these two squaring off this year. The Georgia Bulldogs woke up this morning as champions.
Sun Belt Championship: Marshall 31-Louisiana 3. It was all Marshall, all night long. The Thundering Herd got out to a 17-3 lead going into halftime, and Louisiana couldnât manage to muster any points beyond that. Marshall was led by their QB, Braylon Baxton, who accounted for more than 250 yards. The Marshall Thundering Herd woke up this morning as champions.
Big Ten Championship: Oregon 45-Penn State 37. For most of the first half, it looked like Oregon was in firm control of this ball game, but Penn State kept fighting back. There were multiple times where this game was two, even three possessions in Oregonâs favor, but the Nittany Lions never gave up. Oregon won the conference in their first year of membership and remains the only undefeated team in the country. The Oregon Ducks woke up this morning as champions.
ACC Championship: Clemson 34-SMU 31. It was a battle of nutrition in Charlotte as SMU fell behind BIG early but managed to come alllll the way back against a very experienced Clemson team. In the end, Clemson nailed a 56-yard walk-off field goal to clinch a berth in the College Football Playoff. Now we must wait and see if SMU did enough to get themselves into the playoff without the automatic bid. The Clemson Tigers woke up this morning as champions.
