You know what they always say
There are two times when you have to fasten your seat belt. The first is when you get into a car (naturally). And then the second is when you are about to face-off against Rico Dowdle in a revenge game. If that’s the case
you best buckle tf up!

CMC. Saquon Barkley. James Cook. Derrick Henry.

These are some of the household names when it comes to NFL running backs. In a league with 32 different teams, each of which have their starter, their backup, and depth guys, it’s hard to keep track of everybody.

Even guys who are starters sometimes get cast aside in a side bucket of ‘oh yeah he’s playing too’.

It’s funny how things work out, because it’s usually guys from that category who will come out on Sunday and light the football world on fire. For the last two weeks, that guy has NO DOUBT been Rico Dowdle!

Yesterday: 183 rush yards, 4 receptions, 56 receiving yards, 1 TD (239 total scrimmage yards)

Last week: 206 rush yards, 3 receptions, 28 receiving yards, 1 TD (234 total scrimmage yards)

These are simply video game numbers. Yesterday the Carolina Panthers were hosting Dowdle’s old team, the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas was favored in the contest and Dowdle made sure to let his former team know what they were in for. Early in the week he told the media that Dallas better ‘buckle up’.

Dowdle spent the first 5 years of his career in Dallas, but when it was time for an extension, the Cowboys felt like they should move in another direction. They didn’t know if Rico could be the guy.

The Panthers picked him up to rotate carries with Chuba Hubbard. After Hubbard went down, Rico has seized his opportunity.

He is a large reason why the Panthers are now 3-3, have won 3 out of their last 4 games, and have a .500 record for the first time in FOUR YEARS!

Can’t say enough about the guy. He has straight out BALLED so far this month!

October MVP!

After the game when asked about what he thought about his own buckled up comments, he kept it simple:

“They wasn’t buckled up”
