đ The NHL has always been huge in Europe, but today, the NHL calls Europe home.
The Stars and Panthers, two of the top teams in the league, will take the ice in Tampere, Finland at the Nokia Arena as the NHL kicks off their Global Series.
In Finland, hockey is practically a religion, and there will be 7 native Finnish players on the ice today between the two squads. Aleksander Barkov, Panthers captain and the first Finn to ever captain a Cup-winner, is one of the Finnish players that will take the ice in his hometown once again.
