What to know: If it werenât for Patrick Mahomes, who knows how many Super Bowls Josh Allen may have? It could be one, maybe two, or maybe none. But thereâs one problem for the Bills and Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes is very, very real.
I, like most, am not the biggest fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, but it is just unreal what they are doing. They are inevitable. They find ways to win, no matter what, no matter the circumstance, and no matter the opponent. They become the first team in NFL history to appear in three straight Super Bowls. Amazing.
While Mahomes played very well, I spent some time after the game thinking about what always gives Mahomes the edge over Allen. I came to the following conclusion: Andy Reid may be the greatest coach of all time. The Chiefs are always incredibly prepared, they have an impeccable game plan, they have uncanny situational awareness, and they always have the right play call at the right time against the right look. While Mahomes, Kelce, and the rest of the players are impressive in their own right, without Reid, this team is nowhere near the dynasty we see today. This staff is just levels above the rest of the league, and that is why they win.
