There’s going to be a Game Three in Milwaukee tonight, grab the biggest box of popcorn you got.
The Mets took a lead heading into the late innings last night, but then someone woke up the Brewers. Garrett Mitchell delivered a two-run shot in the eighth inning that lit up the whole state of Wisconsin when it trickled over the fence. From that point on, the Brewers just needed to muster three more outs.
One, two, three. Good morning, good afternoon, good night. Game three. Both teams on paper deserve to win this game, but as we all know, there can only be one.
The Brewers have been one of the most injury-depleted teams in all of baseball this year. Losing key player after key player to season-ending injury. They haven’t blinked. They’ve leaned on guys like Willy Adames, William Contrares, Brice Turang, and Jackson Chourio to produce, and boy have they. While the bullpen has been lights out, the starting pitching has got hot late. The Brew Crew will look to win it in front of their home crowd.
The Mets are an unreal story this year. They started the year pretty cold, everyone counted them out. They kept playing baseball. Eventually, they just couldn’t stop winning. Francisco Lindor finally became the guy they traded for, while guys like Pete Alonso, Brandon Nimmo, and others came up in the clutch. The Mets are always doubted, and I think baseball is more fun when they win. So what do you say, Mets? One more series?
